Traveling from U.S. for Marathon in Rome, March 2012 - Any other marathoners out there?
Hello! This is my first ever blog and my first ever marathon!
I am looking for any advice about traveling around Italy. I will have 10 days with the marathon on the 18th and will have about a week after for exploring.
Any other marathoners out there?
Reply to this I'm not a marathoner but I happened to be in Rome for the marathon in March 2010, and blogged about it. I also blogged about my subsequent trip to Cortona and San Gimgnano in Tuscany. I did it quite fast as I was also going to England, all in a 10 day trip. I recommend that you take it slower. In addition to Tuscany I would also recommend Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast (Positano especially) and Capri. I visit that area over a weekend in October 1994 and blogged about it. Just take things slower than I did and you will enjoy Italy.
