Doing a round the world trip next. Want to go to all those places I missed out on last time and a few that I just have to go back to (Rome being one, definately throw your coin into the Trevi Fountain everyone!). Really looking forward to Egypt, New York City and New Orleans (anyone know how to pronounce "beignets"?

This place is totally mad! I was in heaven. So I arrived in New Orleans with my contiki tour group and stayed with them for the two days they were here and then they headed off on their way to L.A whilst I stayed for a little while longer and I am so glad I did because New Orleans was just amazing. Our first night in N.O we did a riverboat cruise on the mississippi river, it was run by engines but had the big wheel at the back so was pretty cool (think proud mary - big wheel keeps on turning). We had dinner which was really yummy soul food style cooking - got to love the mashed potatoes here apparently they put mayonaise in it sounds weird but really yummy. The view of the ... read more

After a fantastic time in NYC I joined another Contiki group which was fantastic. Basically there were two options for this tour one was from NYC to New Orleans which is what I did and the longer option was NYC to LA which the majority of the group was doing. It was a fantastic group and we had a great time together so that was really lucky. Once again I have way to much to tell and don't want to drive anyone crazy reading it so I will give a bit of a summary and whole lot of pictures which are way more interesting anyways ... Day One: NYC to Philadelphia to see all the monuments and stuff, this is where the constitution was written and civil war stuff etc etc. Was pretty cool to see ... read more

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! NEW YORK CITY TOTALLY ROCKS!! I saw this ad in one of those books they leave in the hotels that said the people who say like "New York City is a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there" are TOTALLY lying because EVERYONE WANTS TO LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY! I kid you not it was just amazing ... Well then I arrived in NYC late because I managed to miss my stupid flight out of Washington DC (no direct flights from London to NYC for some reason) and I had an hour and a half wait in Washington which you would think was enough time to get through customs and security but nope! They are totally strict with the whole security thing there so I managed to miss ... read more

Welcome to Jolly Old London. Ok I admit it - last time I was in London I was perhaps a little harsh and its not such a bad place at all. In my defence though last time was the first time I had really travelled to Europe and i though it was too big and too dirty (so didn't know what that was all about then did I?) Comparatively though it is really quite clean and it's not really that big so my apologies to hating London last time. Ok now that that is out of the way I get into bloody Heathrow airport, find the tube station and discover that there is a bloody tube strike for the next 3 days that only just started that evening so there is no way for me to ... read more

Wow, Egypt wasw totally amazing - just loved it! I think everything about this tour group just really went well (which is a very pleasant but quite unusual thing when travelling). Arrived into Cairo and it was lovely and hot - was met at the airport thank goodness so there was no hassles there although I found out that I could have brought a visa on arrival which was only $15 USD instead of paying $40 AUD but ya get that don't ya (anyone heading to Egypt tho' please check it out). Ok well Egypt was just so full on, met up with my tour group which consisted of Sam (Hassam) our tour leader, James and Aaron who are brothers, Leiana who is Aaron's girlfriend who are from Melbourne, Shawn and Ange who are a couple ... read more

Back to the beautiful city of Rome. Had actually been here before but didn't feel like I had nearly enough time so decided to come back with nothing on the agenda and just hang out here (eating pasta & gelati of course). It was pretty great. So I arrived and checked into my hostel. I am staying really close to Termini station at a hostel which is pretty nice so happy about that. Me and one of my room mates (in a 4 bed dorm) Tara who is from Canada did a hop-on, hop-off city sightseeing bus which pretty much takes you around all the famous sights which was a much easier way of doing it rather than walking. We went and visited the Colosseum, Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Republicca .... ok we saw an ... read more

Gee the title says it all guys! I'm here and I bet y'all are at work mwahahahahahaha ... oops sorry I didn't mean to say that aloud *grin* Okedy dokedy flew into Athens from Prague and checked into a hotel for two nights before starting my Contiki Greek Cruise trip. I very cleverly thought I would book into Pireaus because that is the Port area of Athens where all the boats take off from and very carefully of course read the information about the hotel which says that it was 20 minutes from the Acropolis so first full day there I head off for a walk to see the sights and chill out in Athens for the day .... walking .... walking .... walking ... THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER!!!! mwahahaha my hotel was actually ... read more

From Romania we went to Budapest and i know how everyone raves about Budapest and i thort it was pretty and all but i totally thort romania was much better but anyways. Budapest was still really nice but the most ridiculously expensive place (that i've been too anyways). Buda and Pest are on opposite sides of the river and we were staying pretty far out of the city but I think we were on the Pest side. Anyways we got into our hotel and then we went for a little tour of Budapest. Had to catch a bus into the city (only because the metro line was being upgraded) then we looked around Pest. Once again a lot of really beautiful buildings, churches, palaces etc. There was this one really beautiful building that used to be ... read more
