Hey guys, I guess you thought I’d abandoned you, or at least this blog. .. Truth is I haven’t really been in the writing mood. I stayed in Glasgow for two months living in a heartless hostel in the centre of the city - while Scottish weather hasn’t been as bad as the Scots make out, the short days and hard grey streets have been depressing. I tried looking for a flat for a while, but after wasting hours riding the tiny subway all over the city I ended up feeling about as welcome as a door-to-door salesman at the Warehouse. People often wouldn’t even call back to say “no”, or worse, would just stay in their rooms while I visited THEIR house. It feels like Glasweigans are quite a closed bunch, I know I need ... read more

Im having an absolute ball at the moment! very happy to be travelling and really enjoying myself! Glasgow is a very nice city, completely different to Edinburgh though, much newer as well as much bigger but still a very nice city.. And I think like Edinburgh I may run out of time here, have a flight booked for Dublin on Wednesday which I cant wait to get to! one of the main reasons for coming on this trip was to explore Ireland so I hope ... read more

Wetherlam may not be one of the heavy hitters in the Lakes District but its a worthwhile peak nonetheless offering quality views of the central fells and a couple of ridges to liven things up a bit. I added Swirl How and Great Carrs to the route to give a decent day out. My route started from the Low Tilberthwaite car park which offers the rare advantage of being free. The ability to glow in the joy of a free car park was soon displaced by a strong and chilling wind. The blue (ish) skies offered the hope of warmth only to be well and truly beaten by the wind which felt as if it had come straight off a glacier. Fleece and hat on and off up the path which ascends to the left ... read more

Dont get excited, am still still in manchester! Still havent done anything to prepare expect rub the fact that im gpoing on a months holiday in everyone else's faces! ha ha, so long suckers! Its a very boring nightshift so have come up with more hopes, fears and dilema's for the trip. Am going to have absoloutely no money, but in eternal (perhaps misguided) optimism- have decided this will make the trip more fun. More Hopes: Meet the man of dreams (obviously), who isnt married/ attached/schizophrenic. Being gay might help as well. More dilema's: Do i tell my parents about this blog? Have decided no, that way it will make it far more entertaining and truthful a read, plus I dont want my grandma (or parents) to know about my various drug, drinking and gambling problems. ... read more

After the show and dinner at O'neill's pub (great food!) we walked back to our hostel to collect our belongings and head towards Stansted airport. We thought it would be a great idea to sleep in the airport before our 6:30am flight to Dublin and we would save paying for another night at the hostel. We took a bus to the Victoria Station, asked several people and eventually found the Terrevision stop that would take us to the airport. The bus picked us up at 8:30pm, we got to the airport around 10:30pm. Evidently the driver and some passengers had an issue and the bus stopped for like 30 minutes, but Kel was the only witness (Kris and Sarah were sleeping) and they were all speaking in Spanish. The airport looked like a giant hanger ... read more

Japan - UKAriana and Lachlan We have finally arrived in England!!! After delayed flights in Japan, passing through innumerable passport checkpoints in Munich, a transfer to a different flight and a trip on the London Underground we found ourselves in a black cab in Paddington, London with a confused taxi driver telling us in an incomprehensible cockney accent “I don’t know where the Westpoint Hotel is”. It has to be said- we LOVE London!! An all day unlimited ticket meant we could ride the tube all over the city without difficulty or great expense. We found ourselves at Buckingham Palace just in time for the renowned ‘changing of the guard’, then on to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abby, before a quick tube ride to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge where we ... read more
