You won't get bored in London no matter how many times you have been as you would find a way to chill out or hang around. Museums, monuments, churches, galleries, shopping malls, musicals and delicacies will steal your evey minute left. I have been London 4 times, here is my snapshots. ... read more

LAST APRIL (2007), ANOTHER MEMORABLE EVENT was held at the city hall - a week of Titanic celebrations. This was the 4th year that the city hall held this exhibition in commemoration of the Titanic. This exhibition presented the development of the ship - from construction until the present day and beyond. There were images, artifacts, talks/seminars and stories presented during the whole week of celebration. This is the main reason why I decided to explore (since I was not able to attend last year centennial celebration) unguided this Portland stone made political icon of Belfast which was opened in 1906. The construction started in 1896 with the cost of £360,000. I always visit the city centre during weekend and not really bothered to visit the city hall ground and to see its grand interiors. ... read more

I went to Leeds to visit Gali who was there doing her exchange at the University of Leeds. Our two exchanges were opposite in many ways. Gali lived in an American Style dorm complex with British students, Leeds is considered a student city by many with a growing economy and job market, and the University of Leeds has a huge campus comprising of many different faculties and disciplines. On the other hand, I lived in a single building that housed only exchange and international students, Amsterdam is a historic city which once had the biggest port in the world, the city continuous to boom however due to its geographic size, that growth is limited, and my school had only one building, with one faculty. While walking the streets of Leeds, it really did feel like a ... read more

Day 5 Portreath - Mawgan Porth 32 miles (157 miles total) Leaving my comfortable farm B&B I followed the Mineral Tramway inland. It was a pleasure after the busy coast road yesterday . After a mile or two admired the converted mine winding house and then briefly had to rejoin roads to cross the busy A30 dual carraigeway. The next section was particularly enjoyable following the tramway through the heathery valley through the old spoil heaps down to Devoran. After leaving the trail a short road trip was followed by another off road piece into Truro. Availing myself of a picnic lunch on the quayside outside Tescos I then pushed on to Newquay getting there by three. Newquay is tacky but surrounded by superb beaches which looked great in the spring sunshine. I recharged the ... read more

.....Thought I'd post the first of our notes to everyone as I've just set this thing up. It looks awesome, Janice and I are going to use this space to keep the lovely people who care updated on how we are doing. You should get regular updates from us and if you subscribe (no it doesn't cost anything) then you will receive an email everytime we update so that you know if it's worth checking the site. Janice and I will post together/alternately so that you get some respite from my incessant drivel and Janice's (somewhat) 'flowery' view of the world! We really hope you all like it and we'll miss you guys a lot whilst we're away. Peace and Love. Adam and Janice. ... read more

tickets were £35 each, return to cheltenham including bus was £32.50 for two people. Journey to cheltenham took about 40 mins and got to the racecourse by 11.00 after getting the 9.30 train from bristol temple meads. Fairly quiet as well yesterday, well in comparison with gold cup on patricks day anyway last year, so it was sweet. Had good wins with idole first and nglis drever.... read more

I’m teaching 7-8 year olds or the Scottish equivalent of grade 2. I continued my astonishingly large amount of ecclesiastical involvement this year at a whole school fieldtrip to the local church for an Easter service. Friday was spent watching Happy Feet, where we had a laugh about the backwards, old penguin being Scottish. Then it was Saturday. Only people going through this mind numbing, self depreciating course would understand how much we were looking forward to the break. We had two contradicting lectures about what we should do during the break. One told us that we should give up any vacation and spend the two weeks planning. The other told us to have some fun and get some fresh ... read more
