No Pictures for this day, too sad to note in photos Today was Kris and Sarah’s last day in Scotland…so sad, it went too quick. We got up and had some breakfast, then headed into town for some shopping. We needed some last minute souvenirs to bring home. We found another Thorntons Chocolate shop, and chocolate shots had to be done again. After shopping, things needed to be re-packed and re-organized, then we had to say good-bye. A taxi picked up Kris and Sarah and took them to the Aberdeen airport for a one hour flight to London, a 14 hour [View Full Entry]

It was a beautiful Easter morning, blue skies and everything. We got ready and headed out to find an Easter service to attend. St. Machar’s Cathedral is where we ended up for a traditional Catholic Mass. The cathedral was gorgeous - aside from being surrounded by very old, kind of creepy tombstones. There was a large organ and a beautiful choir. Holy Communion was passed around in one cup and we were near the back…. trying not to think about germs =) It was too beautiful to go indoors, so we grabbed some picnic food (of course ham and chocolate [View Full Entry]

Edinburgh, Sarah and Krissy are the two little posing figures in between the two far right columns.
We had a later departure for aberdeen, didnt have to catch a bus till 12:45pm, so we got up a little early and went to see many of the old and beautiful monuments that stood atop the hill in Edinburgh. After grabbing our stuff and checking out, we made the trek to the bus station which included many stairs and walking for well over a mile with our heavy bags again....ehhh. Two buses and three hours later we arrived in aberdeen in northern scotland where kelly studies at the University of Aberdeen. We made it to her flat, exhausted, we [View Full Entry]

So...no one set an alarm for this morning and we didn't get out of bed until almost 11, but with the sickness that has decided to take over it was probably a good thing. (We are now eating cough drops like candy and have found Beechams "All in One" tablets - Dad, it contains paracetamol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine, and hydrochloride....good times) Again it was a gorgeous day in Scotland (kel swears it's never like this). We walked up the Royal mile to Edinburgh Castle and took in the sights. Because it's Easter weekend, it was super busy with tourists from all [View Full Entry]

well after staying up and packing, showering and etc, it was about 2:30 inthe morning before we were done and a cab was coming to take us to the airport at 4am, so we really saw no point in sleeping. so after a sleepless night, our flight was from 6:30 to 7:30 in the morning from dublin to edinburgh, scotland. we managed to find the bus to take us to the city centre and checked into our hostel after walking from the bus quite a ways. At this point we are starting to feel the drag of traveling.....while traveling itself [View Full Entry]

Galway may have horrible water, but the shopping is great! Gabriel had to leave us yesterday, so today our tour guide was a Aran Island native named Collin. We left Galway with Dublin as our destination, but of course there were stops on the way (and lots of history). The day was so beautiful and we managed to get a little sun while at an Irish monastery. There was a temple Kelly at this monastery, and lots of grave stones. We stopped in a town called Moate for lunch at a Pub (soo good!) and then headed back into Dublin. [View Full Entry]

Sunning in Ireland??

We woke up in Kilarney, ears still ringing from the night before, but ready to go. Sarah had some tea with a lovely women from England, and we all did some last minute shopping at Dunnes (like a Walmart). Unfortunately, Gabriel recieved some bad news about one of his friends, which changed the tone of the ride a little. We crossed the Shannon River on a Ferry (bus and all) and Kris saw a Dolphin. We learned a lot about the potato famine throughout our journey (very depressing). The history learned on tours like this is awesome, it really makes [View Full Entry]

After spending the night at Griffith College (thanks Soren!) we caught a bus to the city center, picked up breakfast and some water for the road and walked over to Paddy's Palace to begin our tour of Southern Ireland. Today's first stop was at the ruines of the castle Dunamase near Portlaoise. It was very windy and though there was not much of a castle left, there was a beautiful church. We jumped off the bus on the side of the road for a quick picture of the Rock of Cashel (impressive outside, not so impressive inside - and not [View Full Entry]

Paddy Wagon Route Sarah Krissy and Kelly We went on the Paddy Wagon Tour, leaving Dublin at 8am on the big green bus with Gabriel as our "salubrious" bus driver/tour guide. Gabriel had a "gimassive" wit and personality and made our trip amazing :) The map gives you a general idea of our route, but the following postings will give you a more detailed idea of what we saw. Not all the places that we stopped are on the map here, so here is a list: Day 1: Paddy's Palace - Dublin Rock of Cashel - near Tipperary Bla [View Full Entry]
