Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, London Eye We got up and went straight away to the Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards. There were way too many people to see anything. We found out that the reason there were so many people was because the Queen was in town to celebrate her birthday. Thanks for the invite, Liz! We walked around the other side to the park and we ended up getting an even better view of the guards leaving. Michelle and I found this war memorial dedicated to animals in war hilarious and Carissa thought we were mean. We went to the Tower of London and saw the crown jewels and diamonds. As we were walking around, Carissa saw this kid walk and she insisted that he was famous. We waited outside ... read more

Today we had orientation for our internship. We had to listen to a random professional speaker and then received information for our assignment. I'm working with an event planning agency. They seem like a bigger deal than I initially thought. They said I will probably doing a database entry and helping plan events. My interview is this Tuesday so we will see how it goes. Its not competitive but its just to make sure everything works out. I really need to do a trial run so that I can find where the place is actually located. I have to take the tube a few stops down and then its about a 10 minute walk. Hopefully I don’t have any problems. We also had our first class today. Nothing super exciting and seeing as we are all ... read more

When I first entered the palace. My eyes just widened. The place was wonderful. It was so beautiful, so big, and I can't believe someone really lived here. I echoed through the halls. The tour leader told us very interesting facts. Facts that I could remember is that the palace was served for official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837. The palace is fulled up with 775 rooms. There are many areas that tourist and visitors aren't allowed to go. Those places are there for the events and receptions held by the Queen, herself. There was many sculptures but I liked one and that was the only one I remembered. Canova and Chantrey built it. It was a sculpture of a man. There was many pictures on the walls. Paintings from very talented painters. Just ... read more

I have to get back to the hotel. Pack my things up. Then taxi to the Eurail. I bought my Eurail pass for 211.44 euros. Not too bad. The train ride is going to be 3 hours long. I will be taking the channel to cross the water to get to France from London. My plan is to met Kirsten at our hotel. ... read more

Well hello there, i know its been a long time since my last update so let me start off by staying I’m very sorry for that, however you will be please to know it was due to lots of fun being had over here. It all started with a party we went to, I think it was the second week we were here. It was a school themed party (see photos attached) in the middle of the London ghetto. Scary yes, but we managed to all stick together and keep out of trouble the entire night. It was a great night and our group seamed to take over the entire party, with Jimmy even running a raffle! On the way home it was hard to find a cab, it turns out that someone was stabbed ... read more

Hi all, I think I must have died and gone to heaven! I would like to take this opportunity to let my work colleagues know that I may not be back for some time ...... As our plane flew into Heathrow we were surrounded by fog. Quite a let-down. I remembered this fog well from 19 years ago - but that was Winter! The girls were quite disappointed. "I thought this was Summer" "You said it would be warm" they complained. To be fair, it was only 8 in the morning, but it hardly looked like a Summer's day!! We picked up our hire car. Not the car we'd booked, though, but an Alfa Romeo! It took some time to figure out the ignition system - no turning of a key required to start this ... read more

I slept for a really long time, but I'm still tired. I think the whole time change thing is going to be a problem. It's 2:50 p.m. in London, and I just got off of a 10 hour and 15 minute flight. The hotel that I booked offers a taxi that will take me there for 25 euros. It is so hard to find a taxi. I think I could find one if I stopped writting and go find one. But first I gotta say bye to my friend I made on the way here. (hott girl) haha. Talk to you later.... read more

Ok so yesterday we went to a fun fair in Meadow Park. It was a really simple fun fair but we won a Nemo, a dolphin and a giraffe (for Leah). It actually wasn't that great, but we had the best time because I had never been to a fun fair, so Izzy got to show me around, and we sat in the park afterwards having wine gums. When we got back Joel called, and his girlfriend was in town for the day so we popped by to say hi. Hattie is a really lovely girl, she seemed very nice. I really like spending time with Joel, because he's a sweet guy, and I'm glad he's with Hattie. We had a great time at his house - eating cake and tea and boxing... long story. Also, ... read more
