Our route Six more weeks of the rat race! Looking back the time has pasted so quickly yet I seem to have been waiting to go forever. The day will be here in no time and still so much to sort out. Jenny and I will: 1st August fly out to Singapore - 4 days here trying to blow too much of our budget. Then flying to HK - the flights still need to be booked but the budget airline prices seem cheap enough. Four or five days in Hong Kong whilst we get visas for mainland China. Armed with the latest Lonely Planet we're going to tackle China independently. We want to see the big tourist sites the great wall and the terrecotta army but other than that we are going to be quite flexible. ... read more

Today we all woke up and went to Camden Market. It was like a huge 4th Avenue Street Fair. They had a lot of normal stores and then a bunch of vendors that sold artsy stuff. They had so many cute clothes and purses. I had to try so hard not to buy anything. They had one section where they had food from all over the world. It looked amazing, especially considering the fact that good food is hard to come by here. We have all been craving Mexican food since we got here and finally found some at the market but it didn’t look anywhere near as good as Tucson’s food. After the market, a group of us decided to go to the Tower of London. Basically it’s a big castle and they let ... read more

Today is my last day where I won't be going into the city... I got to have father's day lunch with Leah's father (Izzy's grandfather) and the family. I met shelley and stella who want to take Izzy and I to the Tate Modern, because Stella and I both love Rothko! Such amazing aunts. We had a big lunch with falafel and we spent ages chatting and spending time together. It is so nice to see a whole family sitting together, laughing making fun and just being crazy. It's so sweet. I had such a great time. Tomorrow I will be so busy because I have orientation and a meeting so I will be in the city. It's so exciting... read more

Hello again all!!! We have been up in the North West of England now for just over two weeks visiting Jimmy's relatives, with a bit of sightseeing on the side. We got bad news the day before we were to arrive in Preston - Jimmy's grandad had passed away. So we had the funeral on Monday 4th June which was a really nice service and also very sad. Jimmy's parents had made the trip over as well and it was very strange to see them - it felt like just yesterday we'd left home. The positive spin we put on the otherwise sad and unfortunate situation, was that his grandad must've picked his timing just for us, as we experienced a full blown family reunion, with Jimmy meeting great aunts he'd never even met before ... read more

I was lucky to be chosen by my cousin to be his daughter's godfather! Having said that, I was excited to book my flight to Newcastle, a month ago and make sure to get a lower fare from easyJet. At first, it was really difficult to finalise my booking due to my deadlines with my university research. This time of the year is quite crucial but fortunately, I was able to visit the eastern side/coast area of Newcastle Upon Tyne - Sunderland. The weather is always unpredictable and due to the bad weather my flight from Belfast International airport was cancelled for almost 1 hour. I took it positively and I was able to walk around the airport, bought some gifts/souvenirs for my cousin, and did a review of it for my other consumer site posting. ... read more

It has been a crazy two weeks or so. I spent some time running around Ontario visiting friends and family, and generally having lots of fun. I managed to see all but one of the family "up north"! And I got my first ever view of Niagara Falls; isn't that ridiculous? Growing up four hours away from one of the great wonders of the world and only seeing it at the age of 24? I blame my mother :) To celebrate this, I have uploaded a picture of Rosaline and myself at the falls. Unfortunately, because it is night and my camera is perhaps not so very advanced, you can't see the falls. Sorry. But you can imagine a wall of white in the background lit up by multi-coloured lights. And then there's the picture of ... read more

Hey all, It's been a few weeks since the last update, and truth be told we've probably been on the Internet everyday since, but selfishly enough that was all about job/house hunting. The rest of the time has been spent drinking beer and job interviews - a fantastic combination. As homely as Hogan and Jess' lounge floor in Notting Hill is - time to get our own lounge floor. Speakin of lounge floors - coz the rent is so stupid over here, minjin share-flats have a sh!t habit of converting lounges into rooms, as if some of the places we've seen weren't sh!t enough. This morning we were shown a pretty sweet flat by a NZ chick - I asked, "What shops are nearby?". She replied, "There's a Missive Tisco". And seriously I looked at ... read more
