The end of an amazing experience. It has been absolutely incredible to see young and middle-aged people trying their best and making the most of the intensive course I offered at the Central Library here in Pitesti. A while ago I cooked up a great plan to keep myself busy and active and at the same time do something that feels good and worthwhile. The idea of 'volunteer work' is unfortunately unknown in my country. I was lucky enough to work in a country where 'volunteer work ' is a job in itself ; where people are dedicated and eager to do volunteer work, where the little spare time you get, you go down to a 'Cancer Research' center or any other non-for-profit association and you offer a bit of your time, skills or knowledge to help others. Everything around me is GREEN!! I LOVE GREEN!!! It is summer and everything around me is green. It's good to be alive and to enjoy nature and life with the loved-ones. My parents live in a small town and I visit them frequently. I grew up here. Hello everybody!! I just came back from a LOVELY holiday in Costinesti. Together with a bunch of friends we headed to the beach on Friday night, taking the motorway to Constanta. Although 3am, it proved to be extremely busy, as lots of people where aiming for the beach at that time. What chances have I got? Unemployment rates are low world-over. It's recession. Jobs are axed, people laid off, exceptional employees made redundant. People lose homes and are unsure about tomorrow. It's only the beginning and the worst is yet to come. We haven't hit rock bottom yet and we don't know how long this recession is going to take. I didn't really realize how much I've actually missed England. LONDON. I never thought I would. But strolling randomly today on the beautiful streets of Highgate, it actually hit me how much I have indeed missed so many silly things about London. I missed the charity shops where you can get dirt cheap books and in just over a week since I've been here, I have managed to fill up a whole suitcase that makes me worry and wonder if I'll get into trouble at Customs. The one-day trip we took to Cambridge was lots of fun despite sudden short rain showers and a cloudy sky. We had made a list of things and places we wanted to see before departing and it included the Botanic Garden which once there we decided to skip and of course, punting, which is one of Cambridge's Must-Does.
