Today I hopped on the coach into London. My friend Ben and I started out at Harrods and Knightsbridge. We took the tube over to Saint Paul's Cathedral and decided to just start walking. As I always take a day and just get on the tube and hop off at random stations, this was keeping in tradition of my wanderings around London. We ended up at the Museum of London which traced London from the Ice Age to the Great Fires through the plague, Roman conquests, to modern day London. We then ended up at "Barbicon" which consists of amazing flats and a school for the performing arts. Within the school was an amazing conservatory (green house) which was one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. In contrast, we continued to walk through ... read more

Here we are - back in London. Yes that's right, London. Oh, trust me, I am as surprised as you are! Two days ago I was still at Roskilde Festival and now I'm here at an internet cafe on Holloway Road. To make al long story short, there were some problems at Enrico's university and he urgently needed access to his computer, which is in a flat in Finsbury Park. Hence, we headed from Roskilde towards Calais and the ferry over the English channel. And to get here we drove through 5 (!) different countries yesterday - Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and UK. It's the new thing, we call it "speed travelling". I recommend it for anyone who doesn't have any real interest in other countries, but still wants to travel. Anyway. Here is a speed ... read more

Polly: Had a gert lush last Sunday, cheers to Lizzie for the lowdown on South America now, apart from telling us that Sao Paulo is Flipping Scary. Cheers to Jim for the Roast Beef which was yummy, and cheers to the London weather for shining on us all so nicely. We have had our first travelling injury ~ Ross got burnt on the radiator! Now we've surfaced from our luxurious airbed and are nearly ready to go. Adios ... read more

Polly: 1 day to go. We have left home and are on our way. Minor drama when I realised that I couldn't lift my rucksack, but after a serious cull of personal belongings we got across London with no hitches. Said goodbye to Jan, Mike, Guy, Mum, Rick, Jimbo, Heidi. Had my last full english. Ate my last chish & fips. Drank some British ale & cider. Now sat at Kate & Kaz's, contemplating how to spend our last Sunday. McPoo, Ta muchos for your card. Very excited about my plane letter. ... read more

So. Still in England here. Thanks Auntie, good to know the animals are doing well. So. I have pictures for Thomas, Kevin, Molly, and Shelby! Make sure to read the comments on them or you'll think I'm just crazy. Well, I am. But it will explain the pictures! Our flight leaves for Malta tonight at 8:30, so we have all of today to do stuff. We've already been all around, though. Remember, we're five hours ahead. Add five hours to whatever time it is there and try to guess what I'm doing, it will keep you entertained. We went to Tottenham! Oh shit, are you serious? I totally am! Pictures of it and everything. And then, as we were walking down the street away from Tottenham stadium, theres like this random Kingdom Hall and my mom ... read more

Hello Everyone, thought we would update again. Let us see... when was the last update... way back in Scotland. Edinburgh was fine, we stayed a bit out of town, but the place we stayed was pretty good except the room was WAY too hot. we took another one of the new europe tours which was informative, but our tour guide spoke to us as if she was telling a story to a group of young children, which was very annoying. we wandered around a bit , but there is not much to report. we did see the place where J.K. Rowling wrote most of the first Harry Potter book, and also some of the landmark that inspired her (at least so claims our tour guide). Our next stop was in Newcastle (Yay England!) in order to ... read more

Right, first’s things first, don’t expect a lyrical masterpiece as this is going to be very much a visual journey. Over the coming weeks and months I want to share with family and friends some of the sights from my trips. Today is day one (of seven!) to get to St Helena, nestled in the middle of the south Atlantic and 1,200 miles from the nearest mainland coast that is Angola! Not that straight forward to get to as you might think as access is still only by ship! Today (Friday) starts with a flight from London to Johannesburg. Tomorrow is an onward flight to Windhoek - the capital of Namibia - and then Sunday a quick 50 minute flight to Walvis Bay on the West Africa coast; from where I will pick up the RMS ... read more
