Well, today i was an official tourist. I started off the day with the changing of the guard at Buckingham palace, then went to Westminster, then the Banquet house (long story) It was very cool. I also did a little shopping in Picadilly Circus. I think tomorrow will be the British Museum, which should be cool. Oxford was fun, saw where both CS Lewis and JRR tolkein lived. Also where the Great Hall in Harry Potter was filmed...hehe...anyways, ate lunch in a pub where the previously mentioned writers ate and then did some shopping. Came back, saw 211 b Baker's St. where Sherlock Holmes was supposed to live (if he were real) and Regeant's Park. BIG days!! For reasons unknown, my pictures for the previous entry won't post, so you guys will just have to wait ... read more

Julia and I (both being history majors and political science minors) decided to go to the War Museum. We had a lazy morning organizing our belongings, updating our blogs, and emailing loved ones. NOTE: I HAVE POSTE PICTURES ON THE PREVIOUS BLOGS AS I COUL NOT GET IT TO WORK WHILE STAYING WITH STEF. The War Museum was really interesting with great displays on the First and Second World Wars, the Holocaust, and War Crimes. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the cafe about half way through our nearly 4 hour visit to the museum. On the way home we got off the tube at Oxford Street and went to get a few ingredients for the Chicken Curry Stef had offered to cook us. We got a cheap bottle of wine as well, because... how can ... read more

Yesterday was very busy. We were up fairly early and out the door by 10am. We took the tube to Leicester Square to meet up with a couple of the girls Julia had been traveling with these past several months. While we are staying with Stef they have some friends they are staying with. It had been decided that we were "going to the theatre" (insert proper English accent here). We waited in line for some discount tickets and bought 6 seats for the 8pm show for "Stomp". We then headed over for a coffee from Starbucks (my 3rd time so far this trip... not bad, right?). Then we found a nice grassy spot and we sat enjoyed our beverages and swap stories from our travels. As you can imagine I didn't have too much to ... read more

On 30 March we celebrated Lib's 28th birthday in style - dancing on tables to an Arabian nights version of Happy Birthday at Gallipoli, Islington. Along with 20 of Lib's new friends from work and old friends from home, we happily feasted the night away on Turkish delights before heading off on the weekend to continue the birthday celebrations in Bruges. ... read more
