5 Juillet 2006 Encore un autre petit morceau d’aventures qui n’est pas le dernier mais qui n’est pas loin de l’être !!! Snif, snif…  Comme d’hab, il y a eu dix mil trucs qui se sont passés depuis la dernière fois. Pour enchaîner un peu avec le dernier « francophones » il faut dire que le w.e. après avoir marche sur les arbres à Providencia de Dota, j’ai…finalement réussi à aller chez les Bribris !!! He,he. Je suis partie avec une consultant de la Rainforest Alliance pour faire le diagnostique de deux structures d’hébergement d’ACTUAR. El Yüé, un ferme agroecotouristique, et…Casa de las Mujeres, dans la réserve Bribri de Yorkín, à côte de la frontière avec le Panamá. Le boulot était très intéressant, et les rencontres…terribles. i dont know what to say... im sitting in the hostel in San Jose trying to recollect and reminise about this trip and my mind is so overwhelmed with memories, not to mention emotions! its been beautiful and its been eye opening, and if there is one thing i could advise to anyone to do with a year, its to travel! i have seen more than i thought i would ever see in two and a half months. from the kind, giving hearts of the rural towns to the gorgeous landscape of the coasts... i absolutely have loved every single moment of my time spent here! saying my goodbyes to each community was so heartbreaking and difficult, and now comes the time to say goodbye to my tica leaders and group members..... this makes me naucious! ... read more

ahhh the sweet smell of salt water. the loud sound of waves. the feeling of being so alive its almost feels numbing..... si si , yo soy a la playa de pacifico!!!! we reached destination Jaco (pronounced HAKO) on friday (the 28th...wow that was only yesterday...haha it feels like we've been here for so long!) morning. since then i've experienced the pacific ocean like never before! We found a comfy yet cheap hostel (9 USD a night) and booted it right down to the beach (literally 100 mts from the enterance to our hostel). The Caribbean was beautiful,but this...ahh but this...its surreal! wholey smokes. what a 24 hours to document! (to understand this story you must know that we{re staying at a hostel in San Jose as a transition before we head to the beach) it began at 2am yesterday morning (friday the 21st) when i was awoke at 2am to Shannon anxiously telling me she was rushing Lauren to the hospital (both group members that stayed at on to travel longer). (!! irony in this being SHANNON has been in and out of hospital lately because she has 4 kidney stones that may need operation!! ) lauren had been having stomach pains all day and was up for the last two hours vomitting. Dimanche, 13 avril 2006 Bonjour! Ça va? J’espère bien. Ici, je continue dans la même dynamique…très bien. =) Avec le boulot je continue à voyager par tout. De fois c’est avec des consultants de Rainforest Alliance, de fois avec les gens de l’ICT (Institut Costaricien du Tourisme). Ils travaillent tous pour améliorer la durabilité des auberges, et je les accompagne pour voir comment ils font leurs diagnostiques, et ainsi pouvoir faire après des plans d’action adaptés à la réalité de chaque communauté et auberge (qui n’ont pas assez de sous pour mettre en place tout ce qu’ils leur demandent, mais qui ont la volonté d’avancer peu à peu).
