4. FESTIVAL DE LAS ARTES Monday, March 19 WEDNESDAY… On Wednesday, as on every other weekday, we had school from 8 ‘till 12 am and we had lunch with a group of COSI-students in a place nearby (3 minute walk). In the afternoon, I Skyped with Jotte for almost an hour! This was actually the first time we spoke on the ‘phone’ since I arrived, so I was obviously very glad to be doing so. As you might have noticed in my last blog, I wasn’t at first all that enthusiastic about being here. Not knowing what the hell I was doing here and being absolutely unable to remember why I wanted to go here in the first place, I didn’t wake up too excited the first few mornings. After I talked to Jotte, though, I ... read more

3. SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA Tuesday, March 13 THE TRIP… Sunday When on Sunday the alarm went off at 5:30, I instantly initiated the auto-pilot mode. I took a shower, got dressed, packed some last things (like my toothbrush)… and actually became quite nervous. The good thing, though, was that my being nervous made me a bit hyper, which led to me talking so much, that Jotte got out of bed (which is quite an accomplishment for him, at 6 in the morning)! We picked up his parents (who – additionally to my parents, my sister and her boyfriend and my best friend – come along to say goodbye/wish me good luck/etc. at the airport) and went to the airport to check in my luggage. We met the rest of my ‘entourage’ there, had some coffee, ... read more

Boom boom shakalaka rude boys and girls lets get crackalakin once again. After persuading Amar to quit his job and sell his Arsenal season ticket, an hour later after watching an Arsenal game on television Amar had changed his mind. However, the power of the economic downturn was too much for the little brown boy and after being made redundant it was now Amar´s job to persuade me to go earlier than intended. After a few seconds of thought I said, "tis a grand idea fine sir, lets proceed to the airport as soon as is humanly possible!" After adopting a new Indian family 100 strong and Amar being sick on take off, team tango arrive in Miami. WE decided to take on the possible dangerous idea of getting a bus to Miami beach to pump ... read more

Hey mensen, alles ok hier.

Day 27 - September 30, 2008 Today I realized my new teacher in Business Spanish is a little bit crazy. We'll see how this plays out. Stay tuned. The night class was tough (the business class I have with all Costa Ricans taught in Spanish) because there were lots of new words and people talked fast. At least I picked up on a good amount of it. It makes you pay attention in class when you have be attentive to merely translate what is being said. When I got home I watched the Saprissa game (the local favorite futbol team). It made me realize how absurdly excited I am for Seattle to get a Major League Soccer (MLS) team. Seattle Sounders FC is going to be amazing. Sure, they took our NBA team, but at least ... read more

Happy New Year to all of you! I hope you had amazing parties and your livers are more or less back to normal. It was lovely to speak to those of you we managed to get through to at midnight! Can you remember speaking to us? You´ll be glad to hear we managed to get boozed up too, although we calculate we were still probably in bed earlier than some of you, even given the time difference! (1am our time?) Our last meal of 2007, in the only restaurant we could find in Samara with more than one veggie option, consisted of giant pizza washed down with a selection of rum shots, culminating in a 21 year old that was particularly tasty. The beach at midnight was rammed and we almost got our eyebrows singed more ... read more

30 Julio 2006 ¡¡Hola, hoooola!!
