What are the best Pacific Beaches?
B Posts: 100
Hello everybody! I am in need of some serious advice.
I'm heading to Costa Rica The first week of May and I was hoping that you guys could help me pick a good Pacific beach to spend the last couple days hanging out and enjoying the water. I'm looking for a non-tourist beach area that my friends and I can maybe take some surfing lessons at, but avoid all the drinkers of the Caribbean.
What beaches have you guys been to that you liked? Reply to this

I will recommend you Manzanillo beach. It is perfect for a peaceful vacation and is not crowded at all. Manzanillo is a small fishing village that is surrounded by forest area and so it offers rich wildlife as well. The whole area is very picturesque.

I live in Costa Rica and our favorite beaches are Esterillos Oeste and Esterillos Este on the Central Pacific Coast. Totally not touristy and not sleezy like Jaco! Here is some information:

One of our favorite Pacific Coast beaches is in Moclips, Washington
Wide beaches, you can drive your car on the beach and picnic.

LoL, it's no problem. I thought it was really funny too ^_^
I did find a good beach. We headed up to Tortugero, which is famous for the sea turtles every summer. It was wonderful.

Glad you had a fun trip. Tortuguero is nice. I live in CR, have only been out there twice but it is pretty sweet. Were you able to see any turtles while you were visiting?

I wasn't able to see any because I was there in May, too early for the sea turtles. But I saw a lot of monkeys, caiman, and met some really nice people! Reply to this

You can go for Mission Beach, Mission Beach is located on a narrow strip of land between the ocean and Mission Bay, only a few blocks wide.
Pacific Beach P.B. for short) is one of San Diego's many beach towns, bordered on the south by Mission Beach and Mission Bay, to the north by La Jolla. Reply to this

Kathryn,
I'm laughing at myself again. Glad I'm not the only one who didn't read the entire thing.

Living in Samara Beach, Costa Rica, obviously I recommend this beach. Why? Because it is a little beach town, no disturbing big hotels which could ruin the beach setting, peaceful, a great mix of local and foreign people and of course an amazing beach. I also recommend the beaches around Samara and in the south of Costa Rica, Peninsula de Osa! Reply to this
