Hi, I am making a few arrangements before heading off on my adventures around Vietnam. I am thinking about taking a 3/4 day tour with the easyriders out of Dalat to explore the central highlands and was wondering if anyone has done this and what they think. I am a lone female traveller and was looking for advice on safety / trustworthyness. Also, does HCMC shut down during a public holiday, or are most things open as I will be there for Labour Day. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

We did an Easy Rider tour from Dalat down to Mui Ne in Feb '06. I would say that it is safe for a lone female, but you might find other travellers who want to do the trip and you might be able to travel with a group. Be sure to negotiate a price before you leave and make sure you are clear on what the price includes. They tried to make us pay for our nights accomodation, even though they had originally included it in the price. Kind of spolit the experience for us a bit. Reply to this

Hi,
I used the easy riders around Dalat for a day back in 2004, some friends we were traveling with teed up a 3-day trip ending in Nha Trang. Look up the Dream hotel in Dalat, the owner is lovely and even has vegemite for the Aussie guests. Her brother is an easyrider and he looked after us for the day. I recomend him, as Paddy&Sage say negociate first & be clear on what is & isn't included in the deal. Reply to this

I agree with the aboves.
In Vietnam, most businesses open every day, except during Tet. Reply to this

Thanks guys I've been told I'll miss a lot if I try and do Dalat - Nha Trang in 3 days.. we'll see. Think I'm go, but will bargain them on the price.
Cheers for your comments. Reply to this

hi!
I did Easy Riders from Dalat to Hoi An - it was the best 5 days of my trip. There was another female traveller who was doing it on her own.
The rider I had was Son - and he was just wonderful - felt very very safe! His english is not as good as some of the other riders (or maybe his accent is strong) but very lovely and funny. Always making sure that I was ok and never left anything behind.
If you google easy riders and find their website - you should be able to email son and organise a trip with him.
