Thailand and Vietnam in April

Does anybody traveled in Thailand or Vietnam in April? Is really too hot to travel at that time of the year?

Hi,

On March 19, I will have my second shot for hepatitis A and B. So I will be ready to travel. I am now considering two different continents. Either I will go to Costa Rica where the weather will be fine or Thailand and Vietnam for 4 weeks but the weather may be too hot there. I would prefer to go to Thailand and Vietnam though. Is it possible to visit those countries at that time of the year and still enjoy it or is it really to hot? Can I find air conditioning at most reasonably price hotels? If I don't go to Thailand at the end of March, then I would have to wait until next January.

Thanks,

Richard

Hi Richard,

April is a great time to visit Vietnam, end of a cold spring and beginning of a warm summer! This will give you an idea of what to do in Vietnam. If you can't cover the hole country, I recommend the north and centre.

April in Thaland is not too bad either, depending on mountain north or beachy south. It is alway cooler in the north. Note that Thai New Year (Song Kran/Water Festival) is from 13-15 April. Great fun, it will definitely cool you off.

From Bang Kok/Chiang Mai, daily direct flight to Hanoi. 10 - 25$ hotel range would offer AC.

Regards,

Quynh

Hello Renior 😊

I travelled in Thailand in April. It was so HOT.
Yes, there is even aircondtioning in many of the cheapest guesthouses and hotels. Also there is airconditioning on the busses and trains. Taxis are also airconditioned.
If u are there from the 12th to the 14th April it will be the water festival so people will help u stay cool by pouring water on u everytime u step outside your hotel. :D

Hi,

I am currently in Goa (India) and its about 30 degrees. Quite hot but not too hot.
I am heading to Bangkok at beginning of March and will be spending 3 months traveling throught SE Asia including Vietnam. Reports I hear that although its very hot, its well worth it. I really looking forward to Vietnam.

Enjoy your travels

Hi,

It's really hot in Thailand that time but in Vietnam it is the most suitable time to visit. It's late spring it's very warm, the scenery is beautiful too. Reply to this

it would be very humid by march in thailand but if you really want to go to thailand, try amari don muang hotel or Banyan Tree Phuket. they have air conditioning available. Reply to this

I have been in Thailand for about 2 weeks and it has rained everyday. Not hot at all. Bangkok was humid but not unbearable. I am in Vietnam in April and hope we see some sun there. No luck here in Thailand. Reply to this

South Vietnam and Thailand will be hot! But hey, you've got El Nino...there is not supposed to have any rain in Saigon from Jan to April...and it was raining two weeks ago!

At the end of the day, it's all depend on what you are used too...I know, sound stupid to point this out!

And for aircon, don't worry, you'll find it in everycity...and in resort places, you'll find fans at least....don't forget, the locals hate the sun!!! No kidding...that's why so many people spend their time in mall in Thailand during the week-end...having a tan is not "in" in SE Asia.

Enjoy your trip! Reply to this
