Hi Kate,

Welcome to TravelBlog.

Are you just overnighting on Tokyo or staying longer? Have you already decided, or do you have a preference for area?
What time of day do you arrive/depart? Reply to this

Hi, im staying in Tokyo for 3 nights arriving on a saturday lunchtime.

Its a stop off on my way back from a month in australia.

Im looking for something quite central, have found this place.. www.tokyo-backpackers.jp but im not sure if its quite as good as it seems.

Basically i dont want to stay in a hotel, as while i know someone who lives in tokyo, i dont want to be confinded to my room not meeting anyone! Reply to this

It's certainly one of the cheapest you'll find. I haven't stayed there but found a couple of reviews;
hostelworld.com and hosteltimes.com

Positives; price, location, reasonable info on the site
Negative; 11am - 4pm lockout (for cleaning). Probably won't be an issue as you'll be wanting to get out and about - there's plenty of options if the weather's no good.

Let us know how the hostel is if you do stay there :-) Reply to this

I can recommend Hotel Sunroute Asakusa, it is one of the cheap hotels in tokyo. But they have a nice accommodation, and it is located in the heart of tokyo.very convenient to go around central tokyo. Reply to this
