Hi
I'm off to India at the beginning of February, doing a tour from Dehli to Kolkata where a friends the flying in to meet me and we then have a week there before we fly and we are looking for ideas for things to do either in Kolkata or nearbyish. If anyone can assist it would be greatly appreciated. We are both in our early twenties if that helps

Reply to this Hiya, I don't reach Kolkata until 2nd Feb, and it will be my first visit, so I can't be anymore help about the city itself than what I have read in a guidebook.
One thing I hope to be able to do while Im there is to head up to Darjeeling, as it has been reccomeded to me by many people as a must visit place. I think it is about a 10-12 hour train journey away though, so would need a couple of days out of your itinary
One more place that has been recommended to me is Sunderbans Tiger Reserve, which I think is about three hours away and well worth a look.
