Expierence with thailand airpass
16 years ago, December 27th 2007 No: 1 Msg: #24697
Hi,
I'm traveling to Thailand in March 2008. Has anyone had any experience with StarAlliance, specifically with their Thailand Airpass? (http://www.staralliance.com/en/travellers/fare_products/thailand_airpass.html) My local travel agent is clueless and I'd like to see if anyone has had any good or bad experiences.

Any info is appreciated.

Hi Sara,

Wow, the Thailand Airpass is nice. I will give it a try on my next trip. Have you contact your local Star Alliance carrier?

As you may already know, this pass is $50 cheaper than Thai Airway's Discover Thailand promotion.

I have purchased a different pass directly from Air Canada, and I find it very useful for taking short notice trips. There was the usual service charge for flight changes, and my seats were not upgradeable to business class. I did encountered a problem with their website in that it did not show the city that I wanted to travel, but this was quickly fixed after calling their technical staff.

If I were to purchase the Thailand Airpass, I would have all my travels ticketed at the time of purchase instead having coupons for later use. This would save me the trouble of having to visit a Thai Airways office because I do not think their website can let you arrange for travels using coupons.

I have flown many times on Thai Airways, and I feel they have the best service among other Star Alliance carriers. The only things I wish are wider seats and more leg room.

Anyway, please let us know your experience in purchasing the pass.
