How long and where to get them.
Im in need of some help having to do with Chinese visas. Im a U.S. citizen and will be flying into China from Vietnam in late July. I would like to spend 3 or more months there traveling around, but it looks like I can only get a 30 day visa. Ive read that I can apply for extensions up to a total of 90 days. Is this true? Where is a good place to apply for extensions? I guess all I am asking is, how can I stay in China for at least 90 days? Please help!
Reply to this According to Chinese laws, you can only stay in China 30 days, and the validity of your visa is 90 days, so if u want to stay in China longer, you have to go to the Police Administration Bureau to extend. Any more detail information you can consult the the Chinese Ambassy in U.S. The website is :http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/default.htm.
But the period you plan to travel in China is the time of 2008 Olympic, so I suggest that you should arrange your schedule reasonable, especially the transportaion and accomodation.
Wish u a good Journey in China.
Reply to this If you have a 30 day visa you can get 2 more 30 day extensions (max 90 days) at any PSB Office in most major towns, if your in southern China, say in DaLi or LiJiang YunNan the office there will issue you extensions on the same day
Reply to this Thanks guys. That is a much more straight forward answer than I have found elsewhere. Do you know if you have to show proof of exit from China (plane/train tickets) to Chinese officials when entering China? I dont have plane tickets out of China as I will be taking the train through Russia.
Reply to this you just have to show the train ticket to the officials when you planned to exit from China. That's Ok !
