First time solo traveller in need of advice for a trans mongolian/asian adventure
16 years ago, November 24th 2007 No: 1 Msg: #23065
Hi there seasoned travellers! I\'m planning on a \'career break\' travelling to Asia but starting at Moscow, picking up the trans-mongolian railway to Bejing, moving round China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and most of the South east asian countrys.

I have never travelled alone before or done any \'backpacking\' and I was wondering if any of you have done the same and can offer any tips/advice that will help me prepare for this?

Also I was planning on going April to June/July to avoid the Olympics and to give my employer plenty of notice, is this an ok time to travel to this area of the world or doesnt it really matter that much?

In June Japan is mostly rainy and humid.
Just my 2 cents. 😊 Reply to this
