Suggest you buy the new 12th Edition of Lonely Planet India or the Footprints India guidebook. Taking a look at the India sections of Our Travel Journals may also be of help to you: www.evcal.org

Do not miss Rajasthan-Delhi in the North, Ajanta Ellora in the West and Karnataka-Kerala-TamilNadu in the south if you like Architecture and Religion.

Hi !!
If you are staying for such a longer time then the hotels will be costly for you and what I will suggest you is that if you are interested in cheap interesting housing then you can opt. Guest Houses or Youth Hostels. They are easily available in Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, and Major parts of india.
You can see some websites for that or you can kontact me and I will suggest you something in this matter.
North India is full of culture, religion, Architecture, history and arts. You can find here whatever you like !
Cheers !!
Alia
