travelling through Singapore/KL/Taman Negara/Perhentians/Langkawi/Koh Samui/Bangkok.....need to know if i should book accommodation beforehand.
hi 3 of us are planning on travelling from Singapore to Bangkok over 2 weeks in August this summer - we will be hitting Singapore/KL/Taman Negara/Perhentians/Langkawi/Koh Samui/Bangkok....we want to keep our schedules flexible so we can stay however long as we wish in any one spot...so we dont want to make any hostel bookings....but we are worried that hostels will be very busy and we will end up with nowhere to stay or only very expensive accommodation. Would you recommend travelling through these places without making hostel bookings??? We dont want to be restricted by bookings but we also want to ensure we will get cheap, clean accommodation when we arrive. What do you think?
Reply to this I found that you could always find relatively decent accomodation without booking in advance, in this region, few places or people at the budget end seemed to bother with it.
Obviously pre-arranged accomodation is helpful for the first night after a flight, but for the rest of your trip - as long as you can be flexible with your schedule - I wouldn't bother.
Reply to this There are Singapore Hotel Association desks at Changi Airport. You can arrange good value accommodation upon arrival. You will find them just as cheap as hostels.
