Hi Guys

We\'ve started saving for our 6-month trip around Asia planned to start at the end of next year. The plan (however I\'m sure it will change may times) it to spend 2 months in SEA, 2 months in India and Nepal and 2 months in China. How much money do you think we need considering that we would stay in budget accommodation, we would need to fly a few times (cheap airlines of course) and my boyfried would do some diving? What do you think?

Thanks
magda

Hi Magda China and Nepal will be your most expensive stays and SEA an India should be fairly cheap depending on were you stay, you will find that the main tourist attractions and city's are more expensive and when you get off the beaten track it gets cheaper, an example of costs would be a flight from Krabi to bangkok on airasia in January of this year cost me about £30 one way, a ferry from Krabi to Phi Phi Island cost about £6.50, a taxi from bangkok airport to the Kao san road was about £4.00-£4.50 and when i stayed on koh pnaghan a beach hut cost £1.50 a night, so it depends which areas your in and what your paying for, some hostels in India are 20 pence a night but then if you stay in Dehli then it is £2 or £3 a night. so really you need to work out were your going and what you want to see and how much you want to travel etc. Everyone is different and has different needs so the is no definite answer. The key to traveling is line up what your taking on your bed and half it as you wont need most of it and then with money add up all the expenses etc you think you may need and come up with a figure and then double it.
