Hi I'm Even, Planning to travel to Sri Lanka next week. I'm traveling with my co-worker (male). I wish to travel around the country specially to see the elephant reserves and the temples in north. I have already booked a hotel in Colombo for my first day. I have not yet booked any accommodation for my journeys ahead.
I found this website with really cheap rates on bb basis. They have properties around the country it seems. I wish to book others after I landed in the country. Is that a good idea?
this website: <snip> looks legit. Any reviews? experience?

Reply to this As links aren't allowed here on TravelBlog, we can't tell which website you were referring to.
However, my experience in travelling to that part of the world over the past umpteen years would suggest that, if it's a local outfit, it may be cheap but it may not be as reliable as one of the big accommodation booking companies (such as Booking.com or their sister Agoda).
You'll usually get what you pay for and, if prices and pictures look too good to be true, they probably will be. Having said that: if you want to get to know the people, their food and their way of life, and you're prepared to forego some of the comparative luxury that you'd get in a hotel, I heartily recommend 'homestays' - the local term for B&Bs.
As you're going to Sri Lanka in Yala season (with fewer visitors because it rains a lot!), you shouldn't have any difficulty finding accommodation. Check out information online and phone ahead directly to the homestay owners. One owner may well know another at your next destination too.
