Malacca to Singapore

Transportation options between Singapore and Malacca

Does anyone have experience taking a bus between Malacca and Singapore?

There is no direct flight between Singapore and Malacca, and with connections the flights take between six and a half and twenty-three hours. The train takes nine and a half hours with several connections. The bus takes three to four hours, depending on traffic.

I've taken a bus from Johor Bahru to Singapore, and while it got me there, it wasn't fun, nor was it comfortable.

Have you made this trip? What was it like? Reply to this

When I was in Singapore I took a shared tour to this place. I don't remember Malacca being that far from Singapore but I read a lot and bus rides or long plane rides no big deal. (Shorter distance than Singapore to KL. Pink buildings, etc) Left from Singapore early morning and returned there same evening..

I remember that hotels were cheaper than Singapore if you overnight.

Google check shows several bus runs. What options do you have - 4 hours on a bus or longer transit using train and plane. Unless you have a lot of money and can book a private ride on a helo.

Sorry.

In response to: Msg #204326 I really like the helicopter option 😊 but I think I'll have to stick with the bus. I just have these horrible memories of Greyhound buses when going to Detroit when I was in college.

Thanks for the input. Reply to this

I never used a commercial scheduled bus to this place. The tour bus had a toilet - essential for me now days at my age! When I travel I keep some Wet Wipes type moist tissues with me for clean up. (And a flattened out roll of TP too! You never know if that stuff is available out in the sticks or even on the bus.)

If you store a bag in the storage bin don't include passport, money, jewelry or something expensive. Keep passport and money in your pocket. If your bag takes a hike at an intermediate stop you will still have passport and money with you.

Good luck. Reply to this

In response to: Msg #204328 The bus operated by http://www.707-inc.com/ takes four hours and costs about $15. I use Rome2Rio to answer such questions. Reply to this

I once did a 1-day trip and return from Singapore to Malacca. Maybe there are also busses. Reply to this
