I am planning to travel to Japan soon. And I am not good at preparation work in travel like searching travel guides, travel tip, making travel plans, and I don't like bringing a heavy guidebook like Lonely Planet during my travel. So is there any great travel app for Japan travel ?

Thank you very much ! Reply to this

Hi Floria,

Welcome to the TravelBlog community!

I didn't have a smartphone when I lived in Japan, but this is the app for the train travel website I used often;

In response to: Msg #199224 One app I find very useful, no matter where I am going, is xe, available in the App Store, or see their website, xe.com

This is a currency conversion app that give you live, up to the minute exchange rates for just about every currency imaginable. Helpful if you are at a store and want to know just how much that item is in you home currency without having to do the math in your head. Reply to this

Japan wi-fi and google maps, only two apps I've ever used in Japan and I've always gotten by splendidly with those two. 😊 Reply to this

Besides apps that helps me for traveling, I always use apps like Cinch as I like to listen to music when traveling. It's useful as I don't know if all areas have wifi or internet but you can record your music and listen at your smartphone, check it here <snip>
