It is about 575 Km from New Delhi the federal capital and 220 km from
chandigarh the capital of twin state of Punjab out of which another state
of Haryana has been carved.The Highway from Amritsar to New Delhi is
termed as NH I,the road is of great significance as it has been for
centuries a trading route from Iraq,Afghanistan to Delhi,the heart of
India.
The Highway number one has been well maintained and pathway to millions of
truckowners and car plying regularly with perfect speed.
As we move from Delhi to Amritsar,we come across small twons on its ways
are Sonipath,Panipath,Karnal,Kurukshetra,Ambala,Chandigarh,
Ropar,Navashahar,Balachor,Jullunder,Phagwara,Bais,Amritsar.The Golden
temple also called HarMandirSahib has thousand of devottee regualry-daily
visiting round the year from all corner of the world.Durgyana temple is
also grand temple where hindus line up to have a darshan of Ma Durga.The
historical place of Jalianwala bagh has also great significance in the
Indian independence and is also draws lots of crowd from all over India.
City is buzz with activities as growing townships with latest amenities
are being advertised and their construction with sample houses can be seen
while driving down from Delhi to Amritsar.Cars,motors,trucks,buses of all
models can be seen while driving .While back from Amritsar to Chandigarh
we found more than two vehicals met with an accident ,wishing that the
passengers travelling must be in safe health.
Weather in the month of februrary is cool and good for making journey as
the visibility and driving is more easier.
