If you have only a short time in India, travelling with a car and driver is a good way to get the most from your trip.
If anyone is looking for a reliable driver during a stay in India, I'd like to recommend Raj Kumar. We travelled with Raj for two weeks, and had a great time. Raj speaks excellent English, is quite a character, and can not only help you plan your trip and advise on restaurants/hotels etc. but he can also make some sense of the mystifying place that India is. He's based in Delhi, but can take a tour to any part of India. The cost - including all taxes, fuel, parking is approximately Euro 39 per day.
