We have all but paid for some flights to Japan end March-beg Apr for 3 weeks. We plan to focus on a smaller area, Tokyo - Kyoto - Central Alps, with a few day or overnight trips from one or other. Like Mt Fuji, Hiroshima, Nara. But we are open to other ideas and suggestions. In fact, we need some ideas and suggestions, especially of things to see/do with the kids. They will be 3.5 years and 20 months when we go. We plan to take more trains than buses while there, so would a JR Pass be worth getting? What/where are some good (cheap) places to stay? Once we have researched a bit more, we can be more specific, but hit us with some ideas!
