Is it worth going to Thailand's south-west beaches in May?

Does anyone have any experience of travelling in Thailand in May? I haven't booked it yet, as I'm concerned that most of the days will be rainy...I know it's just on the brink of monsoon season. I can handle the heat but not being followed by the British weather!! My last holiday it Italy it rained for 2 weeks!! Some people say that you still get plenty of sunshine. I really want to go to the southwest islands. I'd love to hear your experiences. Reply to this

ive travelled many time to thailand throughout monsoon season, ive always found that the most rain you will experience is maybe 30 - 40 mins a day..it will be torential to say the least but it will stop as suddenly as it starts but i wouldnt be concered about it...

bangkok recommended 2/3 nights
koh sumai hmmm worth seeing but first port of call for a lot of drunks
koh phan ghan ok! (avoid had rin full of drunk ass teenagers off their ti*s on whatever)
koh tao very chilled out good diving and good to relax
koh chang beautiful island not much to do but take it all in and chill out
phuket not for me too built up a tad 'tenerifeish' at night
krabi nice place again worth a couple of nights
phi phi loved this palce plenty to do good diving/snorkeling isnt affected too much by monsoons

excuse the spelling but not arsed with spell check!!

the above are only opinions you really have to go for yourself to find out!!

enjoy
