I am shortly to leave on a 3 month trip through Russia to Mongolia and then on to Kazakhstan and the ferry to azairbajan . any help or info would be greatly appreciated
Reply to this Hi mad, I'm planning a trip next year myself, and am trying to get as much info on road conditions and fuel stops as I can. Have a look at some of the bicycle travel forums like this one:-
http://www.mark-ju.net/bike_ride/countries/russia.htm
I find that the road will be good for most of the way, which helps as I'm taking a Rolls with town and country tyres on it. The fuel stops are no more than 200 miles apart at most apparently, but fuel can be as low as 80 octane.
I'll be stopping in Mongolia unless they let me get to Beijing. It's fairly easy for visas with a car as far as there also, but i have no idea what it will be like in the other places, I hear it's more expensive for everything incl visas, but don't really know.
Here's another site i found for entry etc.

If you get any more info regarding definitive road conditions and fuel, I would appreciate it. My message is at the top of this forum at the moment.
