I'm going to Cambodia in April with a friend. I understand that it's not the best month to travel there since it's hot, but it's the only month that my schedule permits. We'll be doing the usual -- the Angkor temples, and a bit of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh -- but we have time to sneak in one more place as well. We're choosing between Battambang and Sihanoukville. The latter is more popular though we're not really interested in going to a beach, since we live in the Philippines and we have lots of beaches here. But is Sihanoukville still worth the trip? Or is Battambang an okay alternative if we have to choose just one destination? Thanks in advance.
Reply to this I think battambang is okay as you will enjoy more over there rather sihanoukville
Reply to this We loved Battambang when we were there - good food and friendly people. There isn't a great deal to do in Battambang but you'll experience more of the Cambodian way of life there than in Sihanoukville. The beach at Sihanoukville isn't great but it would be a completely different experience for you compared to Philippines beaches.
Your other option if you didn't want to do Sihanoukville on the south coast is to do a little tour of Kampot and Kep and see the pepper farms etc.
