Visiting India's Eastern States

Is it still possible to enter Assam and three of the other Eastern States without the need for permits?

I remember a posting by HisDudeness that said 4 eastern states could be travelled without the need to obtain special permits? Does anyone out there know if this is still the case, i.e. you can just roll-on-into Assam?

Hi Andi,

To travel through border of eastern states, we need a special permission from the authorities...have you visited south indian places... Reply to this
