Hi,

I would like to know if I am in Malaysia, how can I get to Singapore?
What is the best mode of transportation (ship, train, bus, plane) to get there? Also is the schedule frequent? How much approx. would that cost? Is there a website of the bus/train schedule that I can take a look at?

Thank you all for your help. Reply to this

Hey!
We did this journey before. The best way is to take the 6 hour, very comfortable a/c bus ride from KL to Singapore. There's a few places the buses depart from in KL: Pudu Sentral Bus Terminal in Chinatown and Terminal Bersepadu Selatan. The cost is around 40MYR.

If you need any info on where to stay & where to eat while in KL (or other parts of Asia) check out our website: goatsontheroad.com.

Hi, Thank you for your quick reply and your information. Would I need to purchase the bus ticket in advance or online because I am worried that all the buses will be full and packed? Also, are the buses operate frequently throughout the day in KL? Thank you. Reply to this

We purchased our ticket on the day. The buses are pretty regular so not usually a problem - unless it's a national holiday or something like that. If you're worried, head over to the bus station the day before (or a couple of days before if you can) and buy your ticket. Reply to this

Hello Daisy and welcome to Travelblog!

There are also trains, but only two (or possibly three) a day, including an overnight version. They don't take you to the city centre (whereas the buses do I suspect) so you'll need another journey after you arrive.

Agree with the weekends, anything booked from Friday afternoon to Sunday night is going to be harder to obtain tickets, otherwise it all should be easy. Reply to this

Thank you for the information. How long is the train ride and how much does it cost for train rides? Also, where or how to purchase the train tickets? Is there a website that I could check for the train schedule? Reply to this

According me bus is the best for you because there is no long distance in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Bus take only six hours in travel. Reply to this

I have done the train ride from KL to Singapore. You do the immigration procedures one stop before Singapore train station. I walked from the train station to the MRT. Maybe a 15 minute walk with asking for directions. (I was heading for the airport, I had previously flown to Singapore before.)

Think I left KL around noon or 1 PM and got to Singapore around 9. This was a few years ago. I had started out with a train in Butterworth, near Penang around 7 a.m. Reply to this

There are many bus operators that provide good facilities to travel between the countries. The buses are packed with all modern facilities too.
