Malaysia International Tourism Bloggers Conference and Awards (MITBCA 2012) the official online partner is TravelBlog.org
You are not sounding thick at all! Perhaps the system is a bit overwhelmed at present, so you could try again later. Or try to use another Internet browser - that can often rectify Internet functions not compatible with certain browsers.
To enter the url, just open the relevant blog and copy and paste the information - but I'm sure you know that already.
If anyone else can clarify how they were able to self-nominate, that would be appreciated.
Reply to this Thank you I will try again tomorrow - and good luck if you are entered? I did see that you live in Brisbane? my daughter and her boyfriend live in Stafford! small world eh? goodnight and thanks for your help x
In response to: Msg #155099 Reply to this Thanks Jo, please post again on whether you are successful or not - enjoy your sleep!
And yes, it is a small world! Stafford is only a few kilometres from where I live in Brisbane.
Reply to this Presuming, all our blogs will go into the 'Malaysia International Tourism Travel Blog' category, if we entered via the email sent, they will go on the following list for voting. No TravelBlog entries have yet appeared on the list.

Ali, any chance of hurrying them up with getting us on the list. We and TravelBlog are missing out, because of the entries from other sites being available for voting before we are..

Reply to this Thanks for the help, Ali and Mel!
@Mel: yep, nobody from Travelblog on there yet. They sent me the confirmation email that they received my application two days ago, and since then, no more news. They seem to be preferring domestic bloggers, or maybe I'm just being impatient. Nonetheless, time is running out. :-/
Reply to this I also got the confirmation email - let's hope we will be available for voting soon. Some blogs have already 244 votes. Think we will need to help ech other!
Reply to this There is a Tourism Photography/Art Blog category too, so for someone with plenty of artistic photographs, that could be an option. However, most entries on this site would be more applicable to the Travel Category.

Reply to this The deadline for nominations is 24th.
For votes is the 1st May. So yes once the entries are fully listed there will be disadvantage.
All entries made via the email have been made - the Malaysian company (not connected with travelblog) that produced the facebook application is having some problem with the quantity of entries but assure me that they will all be listed soon allowing votes to be gathered.
I hope very much that a travelblog member will do well in the voting, but it will take an effort from friends on facebook in order to get short-listed.
Reply to this Some of us are on the list now, including me.
Here is the link to where they seem to be currently adding most of us.

More votes moves the bloggers more towards the top of the queue, so if folks on TravelBlog start voting for us now, we could get more bloggers from TravelBlog on the first page of the voting list.
Bloggers can vote for their own blogs too. 😊 I think, you can only vote for one blogger though...
PS. I found an email from the MITBCA folk in my SPAM folder, that arrived this morning, to tell me my blogs are approved. I only discovered it there just now. 😊

Reply to this Thanks for the update Mel, I hadn't thought of people checking the spam folder re the email from MITBCA, that is a good discovery.

Reply to this Nominations are now closed
We received over 160 entries - we'll be double checking for errors over the next 24 hours - if you spot any do let us know.
Reply to this Yeah, finally they've approved my nomination! Now I shall shatter the competition and take what's rightfully mine!!! Ha! Hahaha!! Hahahahaha!!!
Actually, I've only just realized that you need a Facebook account to vote. I don't even have one. And even if I had one, I would feel rather ignoble 'recruiting' my 'friends' to vote for me. I would consider telling them about the competition, naturally giving them the option of comparing the blogs and voting for mine if they liked it best. Shouldn't that be the point of such a competition? Maybe I just misunderstand social networks and the internet in general.
So if you like my blog entries about Malaysia, vote for me! 😊

Maybe, they would just ignore your requests for votes anyway, like mine are doing. 😉 I think, social networking is something people are into or not. I never give it the amount of attention it would take, to win a voting poll like this one. It would likely involve doing reciprical favours for others trying to score votes for similiar competitions.
I know of a site where it is a running joke to vote for the competition, whenever anyone posts asking for votes for something they have entered. So, I suppose, the thing to do is tell them that TravelBlog is the competition that I am trying to beat. But, probably best of all to steer clear of them, in case they decide to to nice for once, since there are a lot of them. 😉
So if you like my blog entries about Malaysia, vote for me! 😊
Or me! 😉
Reply to this Nine Travelbloggers are now appearing on the Top 20, with some entries rising quickly in the ranks.
Reply to this I voted for all the TBers, but only the first two showed as me having cast a vote...the Vote button turned to Voted. I hope the other votes counted. Every TBer should have at least two votes.
