Hi, I went to Thailand 2 years ago and the best place I went to was called Pai. It's about 4 hours bus ride from Chiang Mai, if you have a travel book it should be mentioned in there. It's absolutely beautiful, surrounded by mountains and waterfalls, but when I went it was starting to become really quite touristic so I don't know if it's tranquility may be partly destroyed now. I stayed at Paddy Fields, just outside the main part of the town, and took a Thai cooking course with a guy called Tee. Good times! I hope you have lots of fun, Thailand is a beautiful smiley country! Reply to this

We did the cooking course with Tee too! Brilliant! Pai is one of our favourite places in South East Asia so go there. Reply to this

Chaing Mai is amazing. Baanchang Elephant Park is a great place to visit elephants - where they are actually taking care of them. We loved it -one of our best experiences! Everyone we met who went on treks talked a lot about the bugs and such, so I'm glad we skipped it. Ziplining with Jungle Flight was pretty sweet too.

In Bangkok we loved Khaosan Road. Be careful of ANYONE who tells you the grand palace is closed for a ceremony - it's not.

Skip Koh Samui. there has to be better beaches! Have fun! Reply to this

Koh Tao is nice if you are looking for a peaceful and not crowded place. The sea is beauiful and diving there is quite good for Thailand.

And Railay is a perfect place for rock climbing. Reply to this
