Hi - has anyone been in Kerala during July and if so was it a total wipeout with the rain or was it ok?
Reply to this Hello Natasha 😊
Thanks for your emails and your compliments.
I have never been to Kerala. I was however in SE Asia and Central America during their rainy seasons. The rain isnt nearly as bad as one would expect, and it is often warm rain, so not as uncomfortable as a rainy, damp day in London for example.
One big advantage is that prices go down, and everything is not so crowded with tourists. Some things were closed, but there was still plenty open for me to have good trips.
Anyway, hopefully somebody with information specifically about Kerala will post here.
Mel
Reply to this I´ve not visited in July, but I was there in August last year. Yes, it rained, but also it didn´t. Sometimes it was sunny, othertimes overcast. The variety was interesting. If the weather is your principal concern then perhaps you will be dissapointed whenever you visit, as Kerala has a propensity towards dampness year round, especially in the ghats.
The Keralan Backwaters.
Reply to this Thanks Scott and Danny I decided against it as if the rain is torrential the backwaters will not be possible to do and its a bit of a 50/50 if was ok great but if not that would be a real bummer!
Reply to this HI Mel - whatever you did seems to have worked! thanks
