I will be having surgery at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi Jan07 and will be staying until March 07. For accommodations, I've been referred to Vikram's Inn (NOT HOTEL VIKRAM - different place.) I am unable to find any information about this inn. Is anyone familiar with it and it's location and services? I am interested in accommodations which include meals, own bath, air cond, and are used to having international medical patients being treated at Apollo as guests. I would also welcome recommendations for other such accommodations as well. Price range 2000-3500 INR ($45-75 USD) per night. Any feedback is appreciated.

We stayed in a great family run B&B called Delhi Bed and Breakfast. If you do a search for it on tripadvisor it comes up. It is close to Apollo and I believe they have patients in recovery stay there before. The food is fantastic and they really help you through what is a huge culture shock. Read some of the reviews and I'm sure if you email Perez he will be able to answer any queries you might have. The B&B is his hobby and he always has time for the guests. Its like being at home. Address=Friends Colony East, New Delhi 110 065, India. Reply to this

Hi Ellseem,

We are a 20 year old travel company specalising in Inbound and Medical tourism. We are the medical facilitators of Apollo Hospitals and work very closely with Vikrams inn for our guest patients. But it is difficult to get reservation unless you book well in advance as they have only 7 rooms. Do let me know if you want us to make a reservation for you infact we could also look after your appointments, airport transfers and visa help. Write to or call me

I stayed just down the road from Apollo Hospital for a month in a small hotel costing about $40 a night while a friend of mine was in Hospital with a broken back. I would have stayed in Sofitel, but it costs a fortune.

I can't remember the name of the hotel, but it was about 3km south east on the main road, which means it's easy to find and very simple to get a ride to the hospital and back every day dirt cheap. It's opposite a gas station in one of the fenced service roads. Breakfast is included and you can get room service if you want as well. Reply to this

I stayed at a hotel which was about 5 minutes from Apollo Hospital.

I guess it was some Polo Guest House Sarita Vihar

My cousin was admitted for a Chemotherapy for a few weeks during January'08.

I spent about $25 a night and it was worth it. The owner was friendly and allowed me to use his kitchen free of cost. He ensured the house was kept neat and tidy. The best part was that he provided free WiFi internet in the house.
