Hi There,
I'm going to be in Northern Thailand (two hours north of Chiang Mai) for at least three months. I'm planning on going to Bali for a week in Feb. to visit my sister - so I'll be leaving Thailand at least once. Can anyone help me with Visa info? Can you exit Thailand and re-enter with a 30 - day tourist visa exemption as many times as you want, or is there a limit? I think the rules have changed recently... help!!!
Thanks!
Reply to this Hello Hadar,
I suspect that you are able to leave and re-enter with little problem - see this: http://thaisydney.idx.com.au/TouristvisaExemption.html
This was updated at the end of last month - it is post-coup info - so does not appear much has changed. Not having been there myself, I would guess the main concern is proof of onward travel - so when you return to Thailand, you may need to explain when and how you are leaving again, but whether you receive that question may depend on the person you get at immigration.
I think the only time countries get a bit wary on re-entry issues is if you are applying and/or re-applying for a working visa.

Reply to this I'm travelling to Thailand in January for 6 months. The rules about 30 day visas have definately changed. I had to go get a triple entry visa to be able to stay in the country for that long as the rules changed to only allow tourists in the country for a total of 90 days in a 180 day period. If you'll only be in thailand for 90 days total, you should be just fine if you do your 30 day visa runs. At least, that's MY understanding.
