UK, London because the diversity of London is amazing.
Spain, Barcelona with beautiful churches.
France, Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world
Italy, Venice is set into lagoon
Agreed on Barcelona.
I'd also recommend Athens and Prague.
Barcelona is a good choice for the backpackers, Must visit Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Prague etc..
Paris has a beauty and ambiance unsurpassed but is pricy.
Athens has an energy that is alive and vibrant. The people are so kind and the city is full of history.
London is big, bustling and has so much to offer, food, sights, theatre.
Top town would go to Brugge, Belgium Quaint, beauty
Rome is my favourite so far but I'm visiting atleast ten new cities this year so that could change by the end of the year.
My favourite cities in Europe are:
Prague - City of a hundred spires
Budapest - Beautiful
Barcelona - Gaudi architecture/art which is stunning
Venice - Was a bit shabby looking but so unique it can't be missed.
Will be going to Berlin, Poland and the Baltic countries next month though so maybe some of those will get in there! 😊
UK - Cambridge, Canterbury
Czech Republic - Prague
Austria - Vienna, Salzburg
Spain - Barcelona, Girona, Granada
Italy - Rome, Florence, Venice and more!!!
In addition to those already listed:
You could spend many days in Krakow, for her history and beauty.
In France, go to Arles, although it's not really a big city.
And make your way to Lisbon and Istanbul.
Venice - Italy
Oxford - England
St Petersburg - Russia
Vilnius - Lithuania
Granada - Spain
For me Venice wins it hands down though
A few more to add to the list;
Pompei - Italy
Brussels - Belgium
St Ives - England
Completely agree with D MJ Binkley about Brugge, we went there just before Christmas last year and it was covered in snow and absolutely gorgeous!
Veliko Tarnovo - Bulgaria
St.Petersburg - Russia
Florense - italy

Would Istanbul qualify as a European city? (Half of it is in Europe, the other in Asia.....) --- if so, it gets my vote. Very interesting place. Lots of history.
Paris, Venice and St. Petersburg score high in my list too.
