Any stories of travel romances - did you meet someone while travelling resulting in a relationship - ongoing or not? Or have you left to go travelling while in a relationship and had the relationship come to an end while travelling?

Just out of curiousity have you met anyone while travelling and ended up in a relationship? I met my partner after years of being a committed relationship-phobe while travelling last year. I was travelling alone as usual and wanted to go for a swim in Thailand so buried my handbag and came out of the water to see a very large very tattood guy holding my handbag and dress (!). He had spotted me burying my stuff and noticed a local about to dig it up so went and intervened. I didnt realise why he was holding my dress and bag so accused him of trying to rob me so in return he called me a nasty pasty and we went our seperate ways. Long and funny story short I kept bumping into him where ever I went for the next two weeks either on islands or mainland and found he was on the same plane home and yes, fate threw in another hand and we were seated next to eachother. 9 months and two trips away later we are now living together happily. We met a girl in Cambodia who had split with her boyfriend and travelling companion 5 weeks into their trip who was absolutely lost and was cutting her trip short to go home while he continued on without her. Anyone else started or ended a relationship while travelling? Reply to this

Of course I've met people while on vacation. The difference is that I'm rather young (20) and enjoy being single so it generally doesn't lead to a very serious relationship but rather an ongoing friendship that has a little bit of attraction to it. This has happened to me on almost every trip I've been on so I'm now left with an awesome networking scheme =]. To be honest though, whenever I go on a trip and meet a girl that I'm attracted to, it adds a certain type of magical element to the experience of the trip which is awesome. Reply to this

I remember when i was nineteen years old. My family always travelling and one of my memorable trip happens in New York City. We had a 10 day stay at Mansfield Hotel. We choose to stay there for it's a nice place to stay on which I could say an experience there is one of a kind.
During the 2nd day I was just sitting at the lobby early in the morning when I saw this lovely girl and I don't know for some reason I just can't help myself falling in love with her. I was happy that they are going to check in at the hotel and their room is near to us. In the 4th day I had the chance to talk to her and after that we became close friend. From the 4th day until the last day in the hotel is the most wonderful time of my life with her. But unfortunately, the last day at the hotel is also the last day for us together. Until now I'm already 23 I'm still thinking of her. I've always wanted to travel hoping that someday I could find her again. Now, it's your time to tell your story too guys. 😊

i have too many romances in travel to describe here. I guess read my blog .

my whole travelblog is about romances during travel...and in between is the stupid stuff all young guys do-partying, drinking, meeting girls (in the non-romantic sense).

I guess most of my entries are private so it won't make much sense story-wise, but any of you guys can PM me and ill give u access. Reply to this

I haven't posted anything on this site before, but I felt compelled to reply to this topic! 9 months ago I was bailed up by my supervisor at work and told that I had to take a holiday because I had too much leave saved up. I jumped on the net, booked a random tour around India (I was too scared to travel around that country on my own!) and a month later I found myself in a dodgy hotel in the middle of New Delhi, exhausted from spending the night on the loo (had to happen!), meeting the other 5 people on my tour, and dreading the day of train travel in front of me. An English bloke came down the stairs, introduced himself, make a joke that made me chuckle, and 3 days later we had our first kiss. A week later we were in love. 4 days after that, we had to say goodbye and go home to opposite sides of the world. I am a very independent person, I didn't want a boyfriend (least of all one that was on the other side of the globe), and I had my whole life planned out perfectly; I really didn't want or need this complication! However, I've never felt so miserable as I did the day I said goodbye, and I knew that I couldn't go back to my normal life. So, through sheer determination (and several huge credit card debts), we managed to see each other another 3 times over the next 6 months, and 7 months later I made the move to London to be with him. I've been here 6 weeks now, we're living together and I'm trying to find a job. I've quite literally never been happier, and I didn't even think it was possible to be this happy! Everyone thinks we're crazy, only knowing each other a couple of weeks and then planning a life together! But it was fate I suppose! We're now saving madly to take a few years off in a couple of years and go adventuring around the world- lots of exciting plans :-) Reply to this
