Hi Paulos,
As you are planning to visit India for a Month your expense will totally depend on how many places you want to visit during the span. An average day expense could be between 700-2000 Rupees (food/Stay/Travelling) depending on various factors, If you can share more details about you plan or list of places want to visit...... may be I can guide you.

There are all good tourist places, Bangalore have some good places to visit within & nearby and you can manage with 1200-1500 rs /day (std lodging/travelling by bus/train), I don’t have much idea Calcutta as I have never be to Far East India but it also more or less like Bangalore in terms of expenses. Delhi has lots of places to visits and is very cheap but temperature will be very high (around 40+ degrees). You can manage in 1000 bucks per day. Bombay is again very expensive and cost u around 1500/day or even more, Goa will also fine place during may-June and have good beaches to visit, you can manage with 1200 buck/day. But as almost monsoon/rainy season by June you can expect heavy rains in Mumbai & goa during the time.

I will recommend you to visit places in north India like Manali/Leh/Srinagar (if u like landscapes & mountains) as they will be having a very pleasant weather during the time. Also they are full of natural beauty. Even I have plans to visit Srinagar during June month as its very hot here in delhi @ that time.
If you any more information please let me know.

Hi Paul, if you are looking at traveling in India, you could avoid hotel expenses by registering yourself on Couchsurfing. This way you could enjoy the culture of the country by living with local people.

You need to take a set of vaccinations before you travel here, and you can easily get a shot against Malaria too. Since the weather is very hot right not (between 35-42 degrees), do plan accordingly. You also need to ensure you only drink bottled water and eat in a safe hygienic place.

Except for accommodation and travel, which will be a chunk of the cost, food and entrance tickets etc, is very economical. If you need any specific info, do write back. Reply to this
