How NOT to get denied when only in transit in China on the way to Tibet and Nepal
Any tips on how I can get one? I'm concerned that I may get denied since one of the requirements for China Tourist Visa is a roundtrip ticket, which I won't have because I'm planning to follow a Shanghai-Xining-Tibet-Kathmandu-home itinerary.
The transit visa, on the other hand, requires a visa to final destination + onward ticket, which I guess is the ticket from China to Kathmandu. But the thing is, I am going to take the train to Tibet then overland to Nepal.
What's the best way to approach this situation?
Reply to this First of all be careful with what you say, I do not know if it is true, but I have heard they can deny someone a visa if they say they are going to Tibet. As for the round trip ticket I haven't heard about that one before, I didn't have any ticket at all when I went to China last year. Crossed in and out by land. It may be different for other countries though.
If there are strict rules for your country you could perhaps get the visa from an embassy in another country?
