Guilin city, Li River, Yangshuo and Longsheng. <snip> If you have enough time and budget, Yangtze River cruise is also a good choice.

Haha, It is better to have a joint tour from Li Jiang to Guilin, not short but impressive. <snip>

It depends which type of tour you like. Guilin/ Li River/Yangshuo is chosen to see the natural scenery and the water beauty. Li River cruise is only a part of the Guilin Yangshuo trip, it takes about 4 hours during your trip.
In Guilin and Yangshuo, many places attract visitors, not only the natural scenery but also the natural style life in West street etc.
For the Yangtze cruise, it takes about 4-5 days on the vessels and you will enjoy the natural scenery along Yangtze River. Reply to this

Li River cruise is about 4.5 hours and really nice. Cost around $50 a person. TAke the one that stops at Crown Cave because they all do not stop there. If you are not interested in the cave (costs extra) walk through the rice field to the left of the cave and check out the Foggy Resort with a big swimming pool there. My favorite place to stop and rest for a day or so without tourists. Then back on the boat to Yangshuo where you will be able to bike around that area and at night there is a fantastic Show on the River with over 900 local people in costumes and music. The man who produced it did the Opening Ceremoney at the Olympics so it is good. Cost is about $30 as I remember. Yangtze River Cruise is special for 4 days although you sail on the first day at night. Two days or cruising through the Gorges and on the last ay they take you to the Dam site for a close up tour of it. I have been on the Li River cruise 4 times and the Yangtze 7 times.
I like both for different reasons. Yangtze is nice for the views of the river, shows at night, great food and off boat excursions each day. Cost runs about $800 per person depending on the time of year. Winter rates are much cheaper of course from Jan. through March. Be careful of which line you use however as there are some cheapies that are really poor. Have a good time. Reply to this

the Yangtze River Cruise is much more funny, cause' you can not only natural scenery but also cultural relics on your way.
If you choose Guilin and Yangshuo, the only thing you can appreciate is the natural scenic spots. Reply to this

We really enjoyed cycling around Yangshuo for a day and did a cooking class there. The were both fantastic. Also, there is some great street food near the river, and really cheap too. Also had my best coffee in China in a lovely little cafe there. Reply to this

I havent done it myself, but from what I hear the Yangtze cruises are not worth it.
Guilin (well Yangshuo, nobody stays in Guilin itself) is a lot of fun though. Reply to this

well, the landscapes along the Yangtze River and Guilin Li River <snip> are quite different. Along the Yangtze River, you can not only appreciate fine natural scenery, but you can also admire cultural relics, highlighted by Wu Gorge, Qutang Gorge and Xiling Gorge and the Three Gorges Dam.
As for Li River, a number of peaks and pinnacles are distributed along it as well as the idyllic villages and farmlands.
