Hi, i am going to HK by 14-16 Feb. I would like to buy some local but cheap things. I heard about the Ladies Market in Mongkok. Is it a great place? And it is for Ladies Only? Which shop is the best and what to buy there?

Reply to this Ladies market isn't a place for local HK people shopping there.
I would suggest u can visit :
Kwai Chung Plaza (near Kwai Fong Station)
Fa Yuen Street (in Mong Kok) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fa_Yuen_Street
New Town Plaza (in Shatin, New Territories)
Reply to this Ladies market got all sort of stuff. There are not really shops, just a street crowded with different vendors. You can find all sorts of merchandise there, clothing, handicrafts, art, fake/cheap watches, all sort of crap really. Its a fun little experience.
Reply to this Miss Traveler---there are many "markets" in Hong Kong. They normally sell what their title implies. Prices have really increased in Hong Kong compared to many years ago when it was a shoppers paradise. However there are still terrific buys to be had. The area is very large so leave lots of time to find what you are looking for. If you find a great buy in a particular shop ask that shop owner where there is a good buy in another type item you are looking for. You will have a great time.
Reply to this Mongkok is my favourite shopping area in HK as there is far more there than just the Ladies Market. For example, parallel to the Ladies Market there is a street called Sai Yeung Choi - it is the main street inbetween the Mongkok MTR Station (take exit D1, D2 or D3) and the Ladies Market. This is a super area to buy electronic and photographic items.
