14 years ago, January 18th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #100216
hi all , ive just booked a one-way ticket to thailand in early july from the uk .

i plan to stay in bangkok for a few days and travel on a loop to cambodia , veitnam maybe laos and back to bangkok and then travel my way down thailand .

if i book a flight frm singapore to oz will this be suitable proof that im leaving the country ?

i was thinking of booking sing to oz to leave around 3 mouths after i arive in bangkok giving me enough time to travel cambodia, vietnam and travel my way down thailand .

is anyone going to be in thailand ect at the same time ? would be nice to meet sum people 😊 Reply to this

You never know with the Thai border and customs, common sense some times does not apply, your air carrier will probably stop you from getting on the plane, because if you get turned around to head back they eat the ticket and have to transport you back to your start point for that leg. having the visa in the passport for the other countries is going to be good proof, Cambodia has evisas, worst case get a transit visa for Thailand which will negate the onward travel requirement which is what i use to do when i would go to Cambodia on a one way ticket.

I would back it up with some pre book rooms and printed itinerary.

As I suggested on your last post, if you are planning to get a non-immigrant 0 visa at some point, it might be a good idea to get it in the uK before you go (cos it's easier) and then you have no problem at the airport.

As Rar on the Road just said,
if you dont have a return ticket you will be refused on the airplane.

You MUST have a visa, that allows you to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand. Without this visa, you have wasted your flight.

I know this is true, because even though I had a 1 year Visa, they still had to talk to someone to confirm I was allowed on the flight. The lady was new to this, but she had been told 1 way tickets to Thailand are a NO NO unless accompanied by a Visa.
