Hi I'm planning to travel to Nepal in mid march with my son, we were going to fly to Kathmandu and head south, but after thinking about it wev'e decide tostart our holiday in Dehli and catch a train to Gorakhpur then taking a bus to Sunuali and crossing the border there if anyone has done this recenting I would love to here from you or maybe someone has a better idea.
I'm 47 and my son is 27 and I've waited ions to do this. Cheers Di
Reply to this I have done it other way in may 2008. Del - KTM should take u around 2 days. Del - gorakhpur 16hr train ride, then just off the train station catch a jeep to the border. Cross the border, walk. Get a visa. then take a rickshaw to a bus station on the nepali side. And take a local bus or minibus to KTM ( duration between 6hr to even 24hr, depends on the road conditions and strikes etc😉 Depends what time is your del - gkp train , probably u will have to organize accomodation either in Gorakhpur just right off the train station or on either sides of the border.

Reply to this Now a days many flights offer good fares if you purchase wll in advance. I have helped two more tourists and later they purchased the flight ticket to save their time...thank you.
