Hello,
We are planning a motorbike trip around Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam next year. We have 3 weeks, we are starting in Siem Reap (Cambodia) and need to finish off there. Would love to hear from somebody who has done this trip before and could advise on things like:
- Routes,
- Motorbike hire,
- Licences,
- Will we make it alive :S.
Would be great to hear your stories or just any advice in general as this is a whole new adventure!

Reply to this Excellent riding...have rode motorcycles through all of cambodia--every bit of it and south and the south central highlands in Vietnam. I would concentrate the motorcycle riding in these two countries. Thailand would not be as good as the roads are big and crowded and dangerous (ok the roads are dangerous everywhere), you can rent a motorcycle in cambodia and vietnam for less than 10 dollars a day in siem reap, phnom penh, and ho chi minh. maybe hire a guide who can speak a bit of the language so you can get more out of your trip and to help you avoid getting lost...cambodia is the best to motorcycle in because you can go to out of the way temples. Buy a good helmet! take drinking water. let the journey begin.........you can ask more specific questions if you want but it is pretty easy to all of this
