Yo. I have a question. I am planning on going to India and then to China to visit Buddhist Holy sites/Monasteries. Should I look at going with a group first and spit off afterward; or are there decent tours offered out there? Anyhoo thanks and have a good one!

Reply to this Hey Brent! I'm glad you stumbled upon my blog! I would like to make a recommendation before you embark on your pilgrimage. Both India and China are very populated and can sometime be very hectic. If you are interested in Buddhism, I would suggest that you start off at smaller countries where it is friendlier and more personal. Before going to India, I would Suggest visitng Sri Lanka, where 80% population is Buddhism and there are so many great monastaries and meditation retreats (Nilambe meditation). And before going to China, I wold strongly reccomend visiting Taiwan. Taiwan is a traveller's secret because it hasn't been flooded by tourists, YET. There are beaches, night markets, beautiful mountains, amazing nature, big cities and the people really practice the philosophy of Buddhism. You don't need a tour guide here because there is a high speed bullet train that can easily take you all over the island! Hope this helps!
