Hi Stephen,

Just back from Angkor Wat...wouldn't call it a trek thought!

For price, visa on arrival (bring one picture) is 20 usd. No need to apply before.
For entry to the sites...1 day is 20usd, 3 days is 40usd and 6 days is 60usd. 3 days is more than enough.
For transportation around the temples, we paid around 10usd per day for a tuk-tuk...great fun.
Don't know muc about budget accomodation, but food is quite cheap.

For Phuket, need to check the weather, as it is the rainy season...last time I went there was in late August, same time as now, and water was not very clear due to the rainy season.

Hope this help,

Hi there,

Discover Angkor temples by tuk tuk is a great travel experience, I agree with Peter. About accommodation, hotel rates in Cambodia are much more cheaper than in Laos. There are a wide range of budget hotels in Siem Reap such as Golden Banana resort, Mekong Angkor palace, ...

Vietnam Travel, Phu Quoc island is an ideal destination for you. I have been there for my detective trip (6 days to Pearl island) this summer. Free and easy to get there from Ho Chi Minh City. Most of interesting thing to do there is diving, snorkeling, sunbathing ans swimming as well as visit town, local market, traditional making fish sauce factory... I like its white and sandy beaches, where I can enjoy my time leisurely.

There are many hotels and resorts in Phu Quoc, from 5 star hotel to none rating hotels. I stayed overnight at Thien Hai Son resort,a nice place to stay at cheap price. Reply to this
